This blog post is a snippet from the Party Promoting 3.0 program. It’s me interviewing an expert party promoter/club owner by the name of J. Carter. He owns two of the hottest club venues in the city and he promotes hot parties. He has sponsorships from a variety of companies and takes time to sit down with me to share his knowledge.
Yes, Lebron James’ lawyer mailed me about a potential law suit over using his name on a party for one of my clients. Take this as a lesson and do things the right way!
I have another company here in Atlanta called Atlanta After Dark (atlafterdark.com) where I do email marketing for local nightclubs and promoters. One of my clients had me send out an email for a party being hosted by LeBron James and Joe Johnson of the Atlanta Hawks. Word got around to LeBron’s lawyer and he acted swiftly to shut it down due to it not being an official contract on the booking. Check out my video and I’ll show you the flyer and the letter the lawyer sent me. I’ll also tell you how to avoid this from happening to you!!
This new blog post is about properly dealing with people you work with when it comes to compensation. This includes DJ, door personnel, security, etc. People don’t like to get stiffed nor do they like to get sent home early after they already made plans to be there. If you run into a problem where you find yourself having to make cut backs, make sure you notify anyone working for you that you might not need them. Also, consider giving them some form of flat compensation, like gas money, if they do come all the way out to work and you turn them right back around to go home.
The other tip was to never plan on paying your set expenses to these people from money you speculate to make at the door. Always have people’s money on your person and be prepared to pay out of your pocket just in case the worst scenerio arises…which is your door not making any money.
The bottom line - Be Prepared.

I get a lot of emails from people asking me about the outcome and results of various parties I’ve been involved in, and also if i’ve ever had bad results. So, here’s my confession of a party that didn’t go so well with me.
It happens to the best of us and all promoters have a bad night here and there.
I was doing a party for a liquor sponsor of mine and it didn’t go so well. I give you the details in my video blog. Check it out below!
Well, here’s the answer! They were never released. Version 1.0 was initially just an e-book of the program. Version 2.0 was born when I made it an audio book and added other audio elements to the program. The final version, Party Promoting 3.0, came to life when I added the videos, more audio, tutorials, template contracts, etc. So, there you have it! Party Promoting 3.0..which is available to you now at

Here’s my new blog post tip - Send your designs to the printer yourself
Sometimes you can save money by getting your flyer artwork from your designer and dealing directly with the printer. Compare the itemized prices your designer gives you for the design and print cost to what printing would cost you elsewhere. Submitting your artwork to a printer is easy and can be done online. Sites like PrintIn48.com are online print companies that will take your artwork submissions and are efficient in getting you back a quality product in a timely manner. Local printers do have an advantage of getting you next day print jobs, but you may be paying rush fees for that service. Try to plan ahead and order your flyers well before time so you don’t have unnecessary expenses.
(Print company recommendation – use PrintIn48.com)

When you’re putting together a great event, you want to make sure everything is perfect so that it all goes as planned. This may not always be easy, and in fact you will have to work hard at it to make sure that it does go the way that you are hoping. You shouldn’t get all worked up about your event. As long as you have the right resources and the work ethic to do it, you will have a great and successful time.
There are four ways to ensure that your event will go just as you have planned. You will first want to make a budget. Once you know how much you can afford, you will then be able to plan out all that you have to spend on your purchases. Budgeting will give you some kind of starting point of estimating expenses, expected revenue, and profit. It’s very important to stick to your budget so that you’re not forced to overspend and you get as close to your target outcome as possible.
Once you have the budget in place you will want to make a to-do list. This is the second way to ensure that everything goes as planned. Once you have a list of all the materials and things that you need to organize, you will then be well on your way to making the most of your event. Plan ahead so you can have time to search for all the best deals on the things you need instead of having to rush the process. Keep track of what’s on your list and check things off to assure you’re not forgetting to take care of the minor details. You will find that putting together your party will go a lot easier and be less stressful when you have a great plan to go off of. The goal is to stay organized and on track.
The third way to ensure that your event goes as planned is to make sure that you have a lot of help. You don’t want to take on all the challenges of running an event all by yourself. You want to have a good team assembled so that you are able to make the most of your party. You want to have friends help you out as much as possible, as well as even hiring some extra hands to get everything done for you. They will also be able to keep an eye on things at the event. They can watch over and make sure that all is running smoothly - and if there is a problem, they can try and fix it before you even find out about it. This will be a great help and also take some of the stress off of you when these situations arise. You never want to be overwhelmed with details. Have your helpers handle the little things while you focus on the big picture.
The fourth tip is to stay aware of unexpected things that can happen. You will want to be on the lookout for any thing that can come up and be prepared to handle it. Having some “plan B’s” and backups in place is the best way to prepare for incidentals. The key thing to remember when facing an unexpected happening is to stay calm. You do not want to get yourself worked up too much. You want to make sure that you are calm and collected so that you can handle any problems that may come up at the party. Keeping your cool will help you stay focused on finding solutions to any problems and better delegate people to the task that will get things back on track.
